GENERAL DENTISTRY

ENSURING YOUR OVERALL DENTAL HEALTH

At the Cosmetic & Dental Emporium we specialise in the provision of general dental care.
General dentistry is defined as dental work done to improve dental health, as opposed to aesthetic work improving cosmetic appearance. The teeth, gums, tongue, soft tissues and facial bones are all structures that may be involved in general dentistry.

Common complaints that may require dental work include:

Oral Trauma
Tooth Ache
Tooth Decay
Tooth Sensitivity
Tooth Extraction / Implantation
Gum Disease
Bad Breath
Mouth Sores
Bite Abnormalities
Tooth Loss
Oral Growths

Specific areas addressing these, falling under the spectrum of general dentistry, include:

Endodontics

The branch of dentistry addressing the inside structures of the tooth.

Paedodontics

The branch of dentistry addressing the management of children’s dental health.

Prosthodontics

The branch of dentistry concerned with the design and fitment of artificial teeth and other parts of the mouth, such as dentures in the elderly.

Orthodontics

The branch of dentistry that specialises in treating patients with improper positioning of teeth, resulting in an improper bite.

Periodontics

The branch of dentistry that studies supporting structures of teeth, as well as diseases and conditions that affect them.

Oral & Maxillofacial surgery

The division between medical surgery and dentistry specialising in the treatment of injuries and defects of the head, neck, face, jaws and the hard and soft tissues of the mouth and face.

WHAT DO I NEED?

Deciding which procedures are correct for you is a personal process and should be done with the assistance of your CDE dentist. This is the process of creating your personalised treatment plan. This procedure typically happens during your first consultation and may include an X-Ray.

WHAT DOES IT COST?

General dentistry pricing is highly variable depending on what procedure is needed and how severe the specific situation is. After your initial consult you will receive a personalised treatment plan that will include an accurate quotation of the work required.

As we understand that many procedures are costly, the CDE provides procedure financing which can be repaid in monthly installments, regardless of medical aid.

The following may be used to give you an idea of what various procedures cost. Should you wish to use our finance options the finance calculator gives you a rough indication of the monthly installment.
